Google surely knows how to launch a product. They are launching Android Software Development Kit for handsets with a $10 million prize.

From Google - Android allows you to access core mobile device functionality through standard API calls. … Combine information from the web with data on the phone — such as contacts or geographic location — to create new user experiences.

Check out the Android videos to learn more about Android. For winning the $10 million Google has a few rules set up.

From the Android Developer Challenge page - Cool apps that surprise and delight mobile users, built by developers like you, will be a huge part of the Android vision. To support you in your efforts, Google has launched the Android Developer Challenge, which will provide $10 million in awards — no strings attached — for great mobile apps built on the Android platform.

Now the story is up on TechCrunch and I am sure there would be several developers eyeing that prize. Do you have what it takes? Then head over to contest page and build a mobile app following the rules. If you can bring the WOW to Google then you will be $10 million richer. Also don’t forget the Android wallpapers.

  2. Yep, already started. I figure that if something like Twitter can remain popular after so many months, my current project should promote just as much discussion.

Of course, knowing my luck, it will all be negative :P
