As reported previously Dell has followed through on its intent to introduce color options in their XPS product line. This offers a little variety in their product line – not in terms of product features but available customizations. More importantly every time customers buy a Red branded product they are contributing to fight AIDS cases in Africa.

Microsoft has also joined in the program and are offering unique content available to Red product owners. Microsoft clearly defines how you can make a difference when you buy these products. MS also gives an estimate of what contribution serves the AIDS cause. According to Microsoft $80 could buy 6 months of antiretroviral treatment for 1 person living with AIDS in Africa.
When you buy a Dell (PRODUCT) RED PC with Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED, Windows and Dell will jointly contribute $50 to $80, depending on the product, to The Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. With Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED, these aren’t just the ultimate PCs, they’re a powerful way to improve lives.
