As reported previously Dell has followed through on its intent to introduce color options in their XPS product line. This offers a little variety in their product line – not in terms of product features but available customizations. More importantly every time customers buy a Red branded product they are contributing to fight AIDS cases in Africa.

Microsoft clearly defines how you can make a difference when you buy these products. MS also gives an estimate of what contribution serves the AIDS cause. According to Microsoft $80 could buy 6 months of antiretroviral treatment for 1 person living with AIDS in Africa.

When you buy a Dell (PRODUCT) RED PC with Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED, Windows and Dell will jointly contribute $50 to $80, depending on the product, to The Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. With Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED, these aren’t just the ultimate PCs, they’re a powerful way to improve lives.
